As the cold dull weather has not inspired a mood for egg and cress sandwiches, Simon has, thus far, avoided the chop. His hours are numbered though as he will soon be past his peak. A ritual eating of the said sandwich during the Monaco qualies could be on the cards for tomorrow.

Yes you'd better eat Simon up quickly or you might miss out on the best taste of him! I bought a plastic container of cress last week and had half on Saturday but when I looked at it to have the rest a few days later it had all dried up and gone yellow and leggy! I did keep it on the kitchen windowsill and dampened the root mat too! Maybe yours will stay crisp and green as its "home made" rather than shop bought!
