Cress

You don't even need a balcony for cress of course and it will grow any time of year.
Rog has booked eggy mayo for any time soon so I'm hoping this batch will survive a lack of water - it was only 24 hours! Oops.

  1. That looks great and has done well surviving 24 hours without water - I'm sure it will perk up and taste yummy!

  4. Ah Ha! Saturday tea before we sallied forth unto an evening of entertainment celebrating the songs of the 1940's Blitz was itself an hommage to the stalwart of teatime of the era, egg & cress sandwiches! We gave it a modern spin by stuffing warmed pitta pockets with the hallowed spread of chopped hard-boiled egg, the very aforementioned cress, a little mayonaise and some freshly ground sea salt and black pepper. A hearty tasty prelude to an evening of jollification and sing-song. Lovely yummy stuff.
